Since 1945, Wallace’s has been at the heart of Wellingtonbridge and the wider South Wexford community. It all began when Joseph Wallace and his three brothers — Matthew, Paddy and Simon — opened Wallace Bros, a family business offering hardware, drapery, meat and groceries all under one roof. In the challenging post-war years, they built a trusted name grounded in service, value and community spirit.

What has never changed is our dedication to customer care, quality and value. Wallace’s remains proudly family-owned, now led by the second and third generations: Joseph Wallace, his sister Chrissie Harpur, and Chrissie’s son Ruairí Harpur — with the fourth generation already stepping in to carry the tradition forward.

From a single store in 1945, Wallace’s has grown into five thriving businesses, each rooted in those same founding values:
