WEEE Recycling

WEEE Recycling – We’ll Recycle For Free

What is WEEE Recycling?

WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling refers to the process of collecting, dismantling, and responsibly recycling electrical and electronic equipment at the end of its life. This process helps recover valuable materials like metals and plastics, while also minimising the environmental impact of e-waste.

Which Items Can Be Recycled?

Under the WEEE scheme, a wide range of household and office electronic devices can be recycled, including:

  • Televisions, monitors, and audio equipment
  • Fridges, freezers, and washing machines
  • Toasters, kettles, microwaves, and vacuum cleaners
  • Printers, scanners, and other electrical office equipment

If it uses a plug or battery, it likely qualifies for WEEE recycling.

What Happens After You Recycle an Item?

Once your item is collected or dropped off, it is transported to an authorised recycling facility. There, it is sorted, dismantled, and processed:

  • Valuable materials such as metal, plastic, and glass are recovered and recycled.
  • Hazardous components like batteries and chemicals are safely removed and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.

Can I Recycle Broken or Non-Working Items?

Yes! We accept both working and non-working electrical and electronic equipment. No matter the condition of your item, we’ll recycle it free of charge through the WEEE programme.

Recycling Through Our Store

The prices of electrical appliances on this site include a contribution to the Product Recycling Fund, which supports the responsible collection and recycling of WEEE.

When purchasing a new electrical appliance, you can return your old appliance in-store for recycling. WEEE returns are accepted in-store from Monday to Saturday.

For local deliveries, we’ll collect your old appliance for recycling—provided it is disconnected, clean and fully defrosted (for cooling products), and ready for collection at the time of delivery.

Please note: Online courier deliveries do not include removal of old appliances. However, you can recycle smaller electrical items such as televisions, kettles, toasters, and similar household products - at your local recycling centre.
